Year-Round Volunteer Gardening

Join neighbors and friends and pitch in at this fun, local event!

PLEASE NOTE: The Carl Schurz Park Volunteer Gardeners are an adult group that meets monthly to work in the park. Students or children who wish to participate must be accompanied by adults or parents who work along with them.

Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt

The Gracie Square Art Show
September 12th and 13th, 2020
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  RAIN OR SHINE

Carl Schurz Park Conservancy is proud to present the 46th Annual Gracie Square Art Show.  Staged in one of the most pretty and peaceful waterside parks in New York City, the Art Show attracts over 100 regionally and nationally celebrated artists.


  • Buy one-of-a-kind paintings, photographs, and sculptures for your home and office

  • Enjoy sandwiches, sweet treats and a beverage from Yura at East End Avenue at the Gracie Square Art Café 

  • Bring the kids for arts and crafts in the playground from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. only. Volunteers will lead kids through hands-on art projects in the Catbird section of the Playground. 


The Gracie Square Art Show is a property of Carl Schurz Park Conservancy. All proceeds go towards the upkeep, restoration and renovation of Carl Schurz Park.

Harvest Festival

Saturday, October 17th, 2020

Starting at 11:00 a.m. enjoy our pumpkin patch in the city on the Mayor's Lawn at East End Avenue and East 88th Street. Pick your own pumpkin and decorate it. While supplies last.

Also enjoy tattoos, making Halloween slime, and take a stroll through our Spooky Trail, if you dare!

There will be no timed tickets for the Harvest Festival. There is no hayride and the other events will be first come first serve. 

Halloween Howl & Healthy Hound Fair

Not to be missed! The HOWL is the Conservancy's annual dog costume event. Over 200 creatively costumed pups strut their stuff before a blue-chip fashion industry coven of judges! 


Holiday Tree Lighting
