A special message from
our Executive Director
Dear Neighbors and Friends,
Your willingness to help us in our role as stewards of Carl Schurz Park is fundamental to our success.
Since our inception in 1974, we have focused on making our Little Park on the River a treasured gem for all of our neighbors and friends. The generosity of donors like you made this possible.
However, the dramatic change in our neighborhood gives us pause.
As we brace for the impact of thousands of new neighbors, having your support now will be more important than ever before.
We face critical concerns like soil-compaction and major damage to the ecology of our intact natural habitats.
From planting native species to cataloging all the inhabitants of our park (think butterflies, birds, bees and other bugs!), we are starting to address these issues, as well as the issues of climate change.
We are solely reliant on individual donations to help us stay ahead of these challenges.
Help us preserve one of our neighborhood’s greatest assets.
Wishing you happy holidays and healthy New Year,
